Hi, Sonia.

Yes, doing Web Design is quite different than teaching Web Design. I am glad that you have found my teaching website useful. I can't say that I like(d) all the Web Design assignments I have online, but, as you know I'm sure, it isn't always possible to create the perfect assignment.

Anyway, I did have a book on hand while I was teaching, however we didn't use it very often. I believe it was a Lawrenceville Press book. I also had big plans of writing my own book (with one of my College Professors), which I/we actually got 8 or 9 chapters into before I/we lost interest. 3 months ago we were contacted by a publisher, and we shared a few chapters, however we haven't heard anything back. I may or may not post a chapter on this blog in the near future.

If you have further questions, etc, don't hesitate to ask. I'll try to help in whatever way I can. You might be interested in subscribing to the WASP Education Task Force mailing list. They are doing some great things in regards to curriculum organization. I follow the mailing list but don't actively take part.

Hi Jason,
I'm a new web design teacher at a local charter high school and although I know about web design and development, teaching it to a classroom full of students is quite challenging. I fell upon your class blog doing a search on high school web design classes. It has been a lot of help as I begin to prepare for next year. I noticed you used a book in your course. Did you ever publish this book? If not do you recommend any? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
